Assemblies of God Ghana Holds 32nd Biennial General Council Meeting as Royal Rangers Central Region A Participates in Guard of Honour

The Assemblies of God, Ghana has held its 32nd Biennial General Council Meeting, bringing together church leaders, ministers, delegates and members from across the country for a significant gathering of worship, fellowship, leadership, reflection and strategic direction.
The General Council Meeting, which is being held from 18th to 21st August 2026 at the Pentecost Convention Centre, Gomoa Fetteh, has featured important moments for the church, including the presence of the President of the Republic of Ghana, H.E. John Dramani Mahama, during the opening activities on Thursday, 20th August.
Royal Rangers Central Region A Makes Historic Appearance
One of the notable highlights of Thursday's programme was the participation of the Royal Rangers Central Region A in the Guard of Honour parade mounted for the President.
Representing the Central Region were 45 Royal Rangers, who proudly took part in the ceremonial parade in their distinctive uniform, demonstrating discipline, coordination, respect and the spirit of service associated with the Royal Rangers ministry.
The participation of the 45 Rangers was not merely a ceremonial responsibility. It represented the commitment of young people to serving God, the Church and the nation with excellence, discipline and patriotism.
Their presence also provided a strong representation of Royal Rangers Central Region A at one of the most important Assemblies of God gatherings of the year.
President Mahama Addresses the Gathering
President John Dramani Mahama, who attended the opening of the General Council Meeting, used the occasion to speak on the importance of protecting Ghana's tradition of religious freedom, tolerance and peaceful coexistence.
The President cautioned religious leaders and citizens against actions or statements that could create division among people of different faiths. He emphasised that religious freedom should be exercised with responsibility and respect for others.
His presence added a significant national dimension to the gathering and highlighted the important role of the Church in Ghana's social and national development.
New Leadership Elected
Another major development from the 32nd Biennial General Council Meeting was the general election of Assemblies of God, Ghana, which took place on Friday, 21st August 2026.
The election has produced a leadership team expected to provide direction for the church in the next phase of its ministry and development.
